Online Services

As the pandemic drags on, we’ve decided we need to find ways to maintain the connection that liturgy allows, even though it’s often difficult to meet in-person. Until recently, it has been AJC practice not to broadcast the Eucharist service. As a part of adapting to the difficulties of the pandemic, this has been relaxed.

From now on, St Uriel’s parish will be sharing an online Eucharist service every month on the fourth Sunday.

The first online Eucharist is next Sunday. We would love to warmly welcome you to join us.

Eucharist this month

We hold a Eucharist service four times a year at St Uriel’s, so mark your calendar and plan to come.

The readings for the service are those for: All Saints’ Day

If you’ve never been to a service before, have a read of “Church for Beginners”.

We usually bring a plate of food to share and have dinner together in the hall after the service. Please let us know if you’re planning on coming.

Eucharist – the practice of union

Eucharist (in some churches called The Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion, the Mass, or the Divine Liturgy) enacts the weaving together of the Divine and the human, and the simultaneous weaving together of each of us into the sacred community.

It means different things to each person. To put it another way, the Eucharist is a mystery, endlessly generative of sacred meaning.

Each time we gather, we offer ourselves, our words, our love for each other, we listen, we pray out loud and in silence and we welcome the Presence as deeply as we’re able.

Each person makes their own sense of it. But we stand together in our practice of it.

Come. Give thanks and praise!
